PMAY-MHIS IV gets effective from Friday

SHILLONG: The Pradhan Mantri Arogya Yojana (PMAY) in convergence with the Megha Health Insurance Scheme   Phase(MHIS) IV will be effective from Friday  and beneficiaries  who have not enrolled with the scheme would still get the benefits if they are admitted in the Hospital from Friday

Informing this in a press conference, Health and Family Welfare Minister, AL Hek said that the total verified beneficiaries right now stands at 9129  while  the total approved beneficiaries for the scheme as on date is 9071.

Right now, as many as 141 Government hospitals in the state have been empaneled with the scheme and Government is in the process of signing MoUs with the private Hospitals to empanel them in the state  as well as outside

Negotiations are also one with Apollo Hospital for empaneling it under the scheme  even as it was informed that the  registration drive would continue till May 31 in all the 11 districts of the state

Stating that each and every citizen of Meghalaya will be enrolled with the scheme, Hek added that there were around  2300 packages under the scheme and this time around, the scheme would also cover the investigation and diagnostic.

For the scheme, the State Government has sanctioned Rs  70  crore which includes  Rs  5  as dues  which are to be cleared to various hospitals for the last version of the scheme.

It may be mentioned that the State Government is paying a premium of Rs 1630 to the insurance company for each house to avail the scheme

People while registering themselves with the scheme would have to produce their identify cards like EPIC, driving license etc and this time around, the Government would distribute individual cards to the beneficiaries.

The Government intends to provide quality health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs to all families of the state, barring state and central government employees. The benefits of this convergence can be availed at empanel led Health facilities in the state and outside of Meghalaya.
