Voter Helpline
The District Election Officer, EJH has informed that the District Contact Centre has been setup at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office at Khliehriat, Room No 19 for ‘1950’, a toll free number also called Voter Helpline. The helpline will provide information, suggestions and complaints in connection with the LS elections.
Notice
The Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, District Council Election, EJH has informed that political parties/ candidates are instructed not to park their vehicles within 100 meters of the office of DC. At the time of filing nomination, only the candidate plus four others will be allowed inside. The expenditure on the vehicles will be accounted to the candidates during the time of filing nominations as the same will be accounted for calculating his/her expenditure if he remains in the fray.
Electoral roll
The Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, District Council Election, EJH has informed that the list of amendments to the Draft Electoral Roll for Saipung has been prepared. A copy will be available at the DC office.
The Electoral Registration Officers, WGH has informed that the list of amendment to the final photo electoral roll for Phulbari, Rajabala, Selsella, North Tura, South Tura, Rangsakona, Gambegre and Dalu has been prepared. A copy is available at the office of the ERO, Tura.
Training
Members of the Meghandini Mahila Samiti, Shillong are currently undergoing a 3-month training on educational, vocational and basic skill in beautician course in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. The training will be completed on February 12.
Youth festival
As part of a month-long campaign on adolescent health which also coincides with the completion of 5 years of Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram, the District Medical & Health Officer, EKH on Friday organised a Youth Festival under the theme: The Future is here, Act now at Mawlai Mawdatbaki Indoor Stadium.
