BSF organises free medical camp in border villages

SHILLONG: Border Security Force, under Meghalaya Frontier organised a series of Civic Action Programme (CAP) at the bordering villages of the state on Saturday.
A free medical camp and eye screening for the visually impaired and cataract under the CAP was organised by 123 Bn BSF at Border Outpost, Shella.
The event was inaugurated by AC Bharadajan, DIG (Med), MS, Composite Hospital, Shillong in the presence of Commandant 123 Bn Rajashekar K N and others.
Dr Narender Satish, 2IC, dentist CH Shillong, Dr. Arun MO 123 Bn, Dr. Brando Khongsit, eye specialist, CH Shillong were also present in the medical camp and attended as many as 111 patients coming from  different village of  Shella, Daliya, Omkhawa, Adharghat, Kalatek, Jatap, Sakirap, Kalibari and Ichamati.
Free eye-glasses were also distributed to the patients.
Another Civic Action Programme was also conducted near BSF Border Outpost in Patherghat by 123 Bn BSF on the same day.
The programme was inaugurated by Sitaramanda, RKM Sohra in the presence of Satish Kumar, Company commander of BSF BOP Beltoli.
In the programme free clothes were distributed to more than 300 villagers of Kalatek, Adharghat,  Omkhawa and Umsaw.
