Neil Antonio War to contest council polls

SHILLONG: UDP candidate from Laitumkhrah-Malki constituency, Neil Antonio War will contest the forthcoming District Council elections after suffering from a brief illness.
War was hospitalised in the process and there were rumours doing the rounds that he would not contest. Speaking to reporters on Monday, he informed that he would contest the elections. He said his supporters were canvassing for him.
The UDP State Election Committee has released the list featuring two candidates for the Council elections on Monday following the recommendations from the respective UDP circles and also the Districts.
The candidates are: Herald Son Dkhar from Shiliang Myntang Constituency , West Jaintia Hills and Winning Garland Sungoh from Mookaiaw Constituency, West Jaintia Hills.
