Headman sets deadline for PDS beneficiaries

JOWAI: The headman of Mulang village in East Jaintia Hills has given 15-day deadline to PDS beneficiaries to come and collect the PDS cards from the Office of the Dorbar Shnong failing which they will lose their benefits as provided by the government.
The headman, P. Siangshai has informed that there are twelve families in the village who denied all kinds of government benefits and even denied to take medicines and educate their children due to their faith and belief.
These twelve families are of Ka Eilis Siangshai, Kalmis Siangshai, Nita Siangshai, Wadlad Siangshai, Merity Siangshai,
Ka theimon Siangshai, Phoida Siangshai, Faithlymon Siangshai, Dearlimon Rymbai, Fida Dkhar, Iaimon Siangshai, Saphadabiang Siangshai.
The village authority held a general meeting and have decided to give them 15 days time to collect their cards with effect from the day that this report is published otherwise their benefits will be given to other BPL families further with consultation with the District Authority.
