NONGPOH: The Khasi Students’ Union has demanded relaxation for various posts lying vacant as per Notification dated 20/11/2018, including contract works at the North East Police Academy (NEPA) for youths of the state.

The Union members of Umiam Circle led by its President, Stevenson Kharkrang and August Nongbri, Finance Secretary of the NKHD Unit on Wednesday also met NEPA Director, Mrs Kala Ramachandran to discuss on this matter.

Following the Union intervention, the NEPA Director has promised the Union leaders to take up this matter with the concern authority at New Delhi.

It may be mentioned, the Union leaders had earlier urged the Director of NEPA for relaxation of additional qualifications for various posts lying vacant at NEPA as per its Notification dated 20/11/2018 since most of the youths here did not possess diploma or ITI certificates as required by this department.

In this regard, the Union also urged the elected representatives to intervene in this matter. The Union leader will also soon meet the Home Minister of the state to intervene in this matter for the benefit of the unemployed youths of the state.
