SHILLONG: Principal Secretary of Education Department Donald P Wahlang on Friday rubbished allegations that the process of examination in Pine Mount School was vitiated.
Speaking to reporters, he said there was no shortage of either question papers or answer scripts. Allegations were leveled in the social media that there was a shortage of answer scripts.
Elaborating, he said there are two types of answer scripts- generic and specific – and both can be utilised for practical examinations.
“There was no shortage of answer scripts because generic answer scripts were available in the school and those were eventually used. There was a rumour that answer scripts were borrowed from Loreto Convent, but none of that happened,” he added.
“Instead of specific answer scripts, generic answer scripts were used for the examinations. This has not vitiated the process of examination at all,” Wahlang said.
According to him, the matter should have been clarified from the principal before circulating reports in social media.
It was alleged that the school had failed to requisition answer scripts for the students to write their Physics practical examination. Principal of Pine Mount School, Aiom Ksiar Diengdoh, has demanded an inquiry into the allegation of examination goof on Tuesday.
She informed that the matter was quickly remedied and the examinations were conducted without a hitch.
