USTM student to represent Meghalaya at Youth Parliament

GUWAHATI: Princy Saikia, a student of University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) will represent Meghalaya at the National Youth Parliament to be held in New Delhi during the third week of February.
Two participants from each state/Union Territory will participate in the youth parliament to be held of either February 22 or 23, a statement issued here said.
A student from the department of sociology, USTM, Princy stood first in the State Level Youth Parliament contest at the North Eastern Hill University in Shillong.
The event was held on Thursday where 15 participants (top three from each district) delivered their speeches on their selected topics for five minutes each in front of five jury members.
Three district level winners of Ri Bhoi-West Khasi Hills combined, who are USTM students, participated in the event.Jitendra Chapagain of BA LLB student of USTM will also visit New Delhi as a delegate representing the district of Ri-Bhoi.
Held under the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports, the National Youth Parliament aims at hearing the voice of youths to encourage and enable them to understand and articulate on public issues.
