SHILLONG: Activist Amita Sangma, who was assaulted on November 8 by coal merchants, expressed dissatisfaction over the short-notice summons issued to her by police to appear in Jowai jail on Monday.
Sangma said Deputy SP Gilbert Marshillong called her on phone on Sunday night asking her to appear in Jowai jail for identification parade.
The police officer also sent a WhatsApp message in this regard.
“Besides the short notice call, I am unwell and hence decided not to go to Jowai tomorrow,” Sangma said.
Besides Sangma, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing was also assaulted on the same day.
Following this, Sangma had sought a CBI probe into the matter and the case is pending in the High Court.
