SHILLONG: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of unions in North Eastern Hills University (NEHU) on Wednesday took out a rally against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 . The JAC also held a public rally which was attended by a large number of students to lend their voice of opposition to the CAB.

Speaking at the rally, NEHU students’ union advisor, Rangdajied Marwein said there will not be a full stop to the agitation and said the agitation will be intensified in the upcoming days if the Hindu migrants are more important than the minorities.

He resented the BJP’s attempts to make the North East a dumping ground of immigrants and instead asked the center to open its hearts to the millions of Indians and the infringement of the rights of tribals.
