Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills has declared dry day on February 27, the polling date of the upcoming district council elections, and March 2, the day for counting of votes. All IMFL licensed premises (wholesale and retail sale) such as bars, canteens, country spirit shops and out still stalls will remain closed on the two days.

Holiday declared
The Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills has also declared February 27 as paid holiday on account of polling. All banks, magisterial courts, central/state government offices, central/state government undertakings, all educational institutions and industrial units under South West Khasi Hills District shall remain closed on the day.
