SP’s directives
The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills has issued directive whereby no person can print or publish in print, electronic, social media etc, the name of the victim or even in a remote matter disclose any facts which can lead to the victim being identified and which should make her identity known to the public at large. This is in compliance to the directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Women Safety Division.
Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills, has declared dry days throughout the district Wednesday, being the polling date for the upcoming Khasi and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Election and March 2, being the counting day of votes. Thunderstorm
The Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson (DDMA), East Khasi Hills has informed that as per Indian Meteorological Department’s weather forecast, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is likely to happen at isolated places of Meghalaya on Tuesday. Thunder squall accompanied with hailstorm and lightning is likely to happen on Wednesday.
Assam Rifles
Assam Rifles administrative support unit has provided essential items including sports kits to Ferrando Speech and hearing centre under the aegis of Director General Assam Rifles, Shillong on February 23. The staff of the centre has expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles.
General Holiday
The Deputy Commissioner (EL) Ri Bhoi, Nongpoh has declared a general holiday on Wednesday in account of Poll Day to the KHADC, 2019 so as to enable the electors of the District to exercise their franchise.
BSNL
The performance of BSNL has been continuously improving as can be seen from the statistics of drive test done by TRAI during FY 2017-10 and current financial year. In FY 2017-18, TRAI conducted drive test in 46 cities and BSNL met the benchmark in all parameters in 22 cities which was similar to few other operators. BSNL has announced to offer Free Voice Calling within India for existing BSNL Landline, Landline Broadband and Mobile customers. This offer is available on Wings service of BSNL.
