SHILLONG: amid growing tensions with Pakistan in one front, the Eastern Air Command (EAC) headquarter here  on Thursday asserted that they were ready to take on any task assigned by the government at any time.

” EAC has always been ready with all its assets – radars, air crafts, air defence and Ground support system, ” said Defence PRO and Wing Commander, Ratnakar Singh.

“We are always ready to take on any task assigned by the government at any stage,” he added.

IAF sources had informed that extra level of alertness was being maintained by the EAC due to the prevailing conditions.

The Wing Commander said that  they had always been ready be it yesterday or earlier as well.

“We are always alert as we have to defend the borders,” he said.

“The EAC falls in a distinct place as it share boundaries with four countries and therefore there is no question of being not ready at any moment in time,” he added.
