TURA: The Local Truck Owners and Drivers Committee from Tura have expressed unhappiness over the notification restricting the movement of heavy trucks on the town’s roads.

The apprehension by the truckers comes after they misinterpreted the recent notification on restrictions issued by the west Garo Hills Superintendent of Police on Wednesday. According to the notification, heavy trucks from outside bringing in supplies into the town would be allowed to ply only from 8 pm onwards up to 7 am the next morning.

However, there was no restriction on the plying of local trucks and the same would be applicable only to those ferrying their shipment into the town from outside.
