Ricky Shullai lost to newcomer, Mitchel Wankhar.
Candidates supported by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and Umroi MLA George B. Lyngdoh’s candidate, Jansing M. Tynsong and Micky Daughlas Syiem lost the elections to the KHADC.
The election was also a setback for Congress MLA from Mawsynram, Hima Shangpliang as his relative, Rudy Shangpliang lost to Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie.
In Nongpoh, which was the constituency of DD Lapang, the Congress won and the NPP candidate backed by the veteran leader came third.
