TURA: Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) began on Tuesday in which as many as 51,321 candidates are appearing at altogether 140 examination centres all across the state.
The examination is being conducted alongside the HSSLC which is already underway since last week. MBOSE officials are keeping a close watch on the ongoing examination to prevent any untoward incidents like cheating and question paper leakages. The necessity to monitor the examination more closely was made more so by the recent incident of question paper leakage of the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) and the board has given specific instructions to concerned officials to remain vigilant.
When contacted, Controller of Examination, T R Laloo said that the examination was so far going smoothly on the first day.
“Today is the first day of the SSLC examinations. By and large, the examinations have gone off smoothly without any problems. We hope this will continue till the end of the examination,” Laloo said.
Laloo also made a fervent request to all concerned not to panic if any problem arises, but to solve the problem by calling the MBOSE officials immediately.
Earlier, Joint Director of MBOSE M Marbaniang also informed that comprehensive and detailed instructions have been given to all officers in charge of the examination centres. According to the official, all concerned have been directed to handle confidential matters as per the instructions of the board.
