Man electrocuted
On February 28, a Casual Employee of MeECL Pitmilton N Sangma (52), came in contact with live electric wire and sustained injuries. He was shifted to CH Williamnagar, where the attending MO declared him brought dead.

Man sets wife’s house on fire
Aiphorda Khriam lodged a complaint that on March 3 around 9.30 pm, her husband identified as Bikinroy Kshiar set fire to her house at Mawpun, Ri Bhoi. However, residents of the area extinguished the fire. Loss of property is estimated around Rs. 2,19,000.

Accident
On March 3 at 6.30 pm, one scooty (ML-08G-0219) ridden by Jombath Marak (25) collided head on with one Maruti car (AS-26-1982) driven by Phillingstone Sangma (50) at Snalgre, North Garo Hills. As a result, the scooty rider and one pillion rider sustained grievous injuries and were shifted to a hospital at Goalpara, Assam, while the driver of the Maruti car sustained minor injuries.
On March 2 around 11.30 pm, one Hyundai Creta car (ML-08F-0101) driven by Kongo Ch Marak (24) skidded of the road at Zikzak, South West Garo Hills. As a result, the driver and one occupant of the car sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Zikzak.

Ornaments worth over Rs 2 lakh stolen
On March 2 evening, miscreants broke into the house of Sanjoy Borman at Lower New Colony, Shillong and stole gold ornaments valued around Rs. 2,43,800 and cash Rs. 5,000.

Miscreants steal bike
Solomon Synnah (47) lodged a complaint that on the night of February 28, miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-10B-3802) from Khliehiew Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills.

EJH voters assaulted
Wom Chyrmang, Headman of Jalaphet Bri Sumer and others lodged a complaint that on February 27 around 1 pm, Tam Bareh, Lambok Bareh, Dameshwa Syrti and Dapbiang Bareh assaulted and threatened him and all the voters present at Jalaphet Bri Sutnga Polling Station, East Jaintia Hills.

One apprehended with fake currency
Wasing A Marak lodged a complaint that on February 26 around 12 pm, Md. Sharbest Ali was apprehended at Rongrong Bazar under Songsak PS, East Garo Hills for possessing Indian Fake Currency Notes (IFCN) of Rs. 500, Rs. 200 and Rs. 100 denominations amounting Rs. 39,500.

One arrested for illegal transportation of coal
On February 26 around 12.15 pm, police detected two pick-up trucks (ML-08C-1266) and (ML-13-7706) driven by Nur Alam and Ritun Haque respectively, while transporting coal belonging to Mansfield Marak, without valid documents at Salpara, North Garo Hills. Mansfield Marak has been arrested.

Fire
On February 25 at about 1 pm, fire broke out at Bajengdoba Bazar (NGH), in which around twenty-five thatched structures were completely gutted.

Three BSF personnel injured
On February 22 at 9 am, one BSF vehicle driven by Ct/driver John Kiro, collided with one truck at Pyrtakuna NH-6, East Jaintia Hills. As a result, three BSF personnel sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Umkiang.

Man held for breaking in
On February 22, Dipokson T Sangma, secretary of VDP, Doba Apal village in North Garo Hills produced one person identified as Rakchim R Marak (21) with a complaint that he had trespassed into the house of one Babul Momin and also threatened him. Later, it transpired that Rakchim R Marak had earlier stolen a Home Theatre Music System from Mendipathar.
