Siju village in Garo Hills is rich in natural resources and yet it is so undeveloped. Till date, it has no proper mobile connectivity. The road is in a dilapidated condition and there are no hotels for tourists. There is one tourist lodge that is currently under renovation. Transportation and healthcare are also in an appalling state. This is despite the state government’s thrust on tourism and rural development.
