SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday said that the government can consider request from the KHADC and JHADC to appoint Meghalaya Civil Services (MCS) officers to the post of Secretary in both the councils.
The government had announced the appointment of a Meghalaya Civil Services (MCS) officer to the post of GHADC secretary on Monday.
When asked if the government would appoint MCS officer in KHADC and JHADC, Sangma said the GHADC appointment was following a written request from the chief executive member and if there are similar requests, the government would consider them.
The government made it clear that the GHADC appointment was not to underestimate the officers and staff of the council but because it was felt that there is a need for a person who has administrative experience to streamline the functioning of the Council.
