Additional forces arrive in state

SHILLONG: Twenty companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have arrived in the state for security in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections slated for April 11.
Chief Electoral Officer F Kharkongor said that the detailing of the companies will be done by the special nodal police officers.
More CAPF personnel will reach the state closer to the polls.
Reacting to a query, Kharkongor said that special focus will be laid on the polling stations situated along the Inter-state and international boundaries.
He also informed that security detailment for the polling stations along the inter-state borders has been worked out.
