GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal have condoled the death of Chief Minister of Goa and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who died in Panaji on Sunday.
In a statement, the Governor said, “I am deeply saddened to hear the demise of Manohar Parrikar ji. He was an outstanding leader and best known for his administrative acumen. He contributed immensely to the growth of Goa in particular and the country in general”. A great personality he was, his death is a great loss to the country and will be difficult to fill.
He will always be remembered by the posterity. “I pray to God for eternal peace of the departed soul. At the same time, I express my empathy to the bereaved family members.”
Assam CM Sonowal in his condolence message said, “Manohar Parrikar will always be remembered for the outstanding service he had extended to the country and the state of Goa. His contribution as a Defence Minister of the country was a class apart. I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and express my deep condolence to the bereaved family.”
Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has deeply condoled the demise of Chief Minister of Goa and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
In a statement, the Minister stated, ‘Manohar Parrikar’s contribution for the development of our country and its people will be well-remembered. He was the leader of the masses. His demise is an irrereparable loss.’
