RESUBELPARA: Members of a peace club rescued a rare species of owl in Resubelpara on Friday.
The bird was caught by a few children on the outskirts of Resubelpara on Friday afternoon.
K D Momin, a senior member of Resubelpara Peace Club, requested the children to release the ‘Do’po Re’chim’, which is Garo for baby owl, to its habitat and explained the significance of preserving and protecting wildlife. “We must love and protect all creatures in the jungle,” he said.
The baby owl was then taken to the SP office in Resubelpara to notify the wildlife authority and police.
The SP took pictures of the bird and appealed for its release in the evening. He also advised people not to hurt any wildlife.
