TURA: Aggrieved SSA teachers of the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association (AMSSASTA) have called off the strike in respect of their pending dues on Sunday.
The AMSSASTA had given the government a time frame of five days to fulfill their demand.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on March 14 apprised the association that their salaries will be released soon.
The association called off the indefinite strike and praised Mayralborn Syiem, the MLA of Nongpoh for keenly raising their issue and the state government for listening to their grievances.
The AMSSASTA urged that their salary is paid each month or every two months.
“Based on his promise on the floor of the house, we are calling off our indefinite strike and request all SSA teachers to resume their duties,” general secretary D S Lamare said.
