SHILLONG: BJP leader K C Boro has slammed Billykid Sangma, who quit the party and joined NPP.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Boro criticised Billykid for saying that none of the aspiring candidates for BJP ticket from Tura parliamentary constituency is high profile.
“Billykid has simply expressed his anger on one hand and exposed himself. We may not be high profile candidates but at least our names have gone to Delhi in the panel while unfortunately his name has not gone”, Boro said.
According to Boro, Billykid wanted his name in the panel for the party ticket from Tura constituency and expected his name too to be sent to Delhi. But, when his name has not been considered in the panel, out of anger, he made adverse comments.
Boro said the question arises as to why Billykid’s name was not considered in the panel.
“Few members in the District Election Committee and also members outside the committee commented that his loyalty and integrity in the party is doubtful and because of this, his name was not included in the panel.
This was proved when Billydkid joined NPP, Boro said.
