Meghalaya kickboxers leave city for Pune meet

GUWAHATI : A 59-member team comprising kickboxers and officials of the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA) left Shillong for Pune on Thursday morning to take part in the WAKO India National Kickboxing Federation Cup 2019 organised by Amateur Sports Kickboxing Association Maharashtra under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation from March 24 to 28.
Speaking at the the send off ceremony on Wednesday, officebearers of MSKA stressed the need to take up sports as a career besides channelising the youth energy in the right perspective.
MSKA also  felicitated three bronze medalists who represented the NEHU kickboxing team for the first time in the history of kickboxing in Meghalaya. Hameshaniah Suiam of St Edmund’s College Shillong, Ioonis Mynsong of Kiang Nongbah Government College, Jowai and Belldona Pakyntein of St. Anthony’s College Shillong were honoured for their achievements at the All India Inter University Kickboxing Championship held at Andhra Pradesh University, Visakhapatnam earlier this month.
