One killed, seven injured in accidents

Shillong: One person was killed and seven others were injured in separate accidents across the state.
On March 20, a Mahindra pick-up driven by Buhaikur Suchiang knocked down 32-year-old Damewanroi Tariang at Dongmihsngi in Jowai. The victim succumbed to injuries at Dr Norman Tunnel KJP Hospital in Jowai.
On the same day, a motorcycle with Assam registration ridden by Amrit Lama skidded on the road at Mawtnum in Ri Bhoi. Both Lama and the pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh.
In another incident on March 20 evening, a truck driven by Melkhie Syiemlieh took the wrong lane and dashed against another truck driven by Uni-Da-Ioh Suchiang at Umjarasi in Ri Bhoi. Both the drivers were injured.
A Maruti van knocked down a pedestrian at Umeit, Shillong Bypass Road. The victim sustained injuries.
On March 10, a vehicle driven by Donboklang Lyngdoh dashed against a scooter ridden by Hilary Malngiang in Mawlai. Malngiang and the pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
