Five coal trucks seized, 4 held

SHILLONG: Illegal transportation of coal continues in the state and five more trucks have been seized.
North Garo Hills police detected four coal-laden trucks, three of which had Assam registration, and an SUV escorting the heavy vehicles at Me’millam in the district. This happened around 3am.
Four persons — Sanjay Sangma and Kesual D Sangma, both coal owners, Rokunath Boro and Arpul Sobha — were arrested. The driver of the truck with state registration escaped.
On March 18, police detected a coal truck at Mookyndur in West Jaintia Hills around 8.30 pm.
