Piyush Mordia new IG BSF in Guwahati Frontier

GUWAHATI: Piyush Mordia, IPS, has taken over the   charge of Inspector General (IG) of Border Security Force (BSF) , Guwahati Frontier from Rakesh Aggarwal, IPS, IG.

Born on July 1970 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, Piyush Mordia did his MBA in Finance. Mordia belongs to the 1998 batch of the Indian Police Service and was allotted the Uttar Pradesh Cadre.

Mordia in his early days in the Indian Police Service served in various positions in Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, he joined BSF and served as DIG BSF SHQ Bikaner then in Force Head Quarter New Delhi as DIG Confidential.

Mordia has been decorated with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He is conferred with several Director General Commendation Roll.

Mordia after assuming charge emphasised upon the necessity of effective border management to prevent trans-border crimes and strengthening of cordial relations between two Border Guarding Forces.

He also stressed to focus upon imperative of welfare of troops and will strive towards winning heart & mind of border people while accomplishing assigned task impeccably.
