Man kills wife in East Jaintia Hills

JOWAI: A Khasi woman was murdered by her Nepali husband in East Jaintia Hills on Wednesday.
The murder took place around Khliehriat area a few kilometers away from the DC’s office. The victim was identified as Rita Nongtdu and her husband was identified as Dulbi Lama (29).
Lama tried to hide the crime by burying his wife’s body the very next day.
According to sources, the woman was originally a resident of Byndihati Village and was much older than her husband.
Police arrested Lama who confessed and admitted that he had killed her and is now in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives.
