New railway line on Alamganj-Bilasipara section ready for passenger traffic

GUWAHATI: The 26.14 km  long Alamganj to Bilasipara section is now ready for traffic. Shri Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), NF Circle, inspected the newly constructed section under the Rangiya Division on Wednesday.

At first he conducted a motor trolley inspection of the line from Alamganj to Bilasipara and then a Speed train trial run from Bilasipara to Alamganj in connection with the opening of the section for passenger traffic.

The newly constructed 26.14 Km long BG line from Alamganj to Bilasipara is a portion of the section of New Maynaguri-Jogighopa New Line Project (288.88 Km). The construction of 178.88 Km falls in Bengal portion has already been completed. At present the work for 47.02 Km from Bilasipara to Abhayapuri is going on satisfactorily and it is expected the entire project will be completed within 2020.

The CRS , NF Circle was accompanied by  Mohanlal, Chief Administrative Officer/Con-2,  Ravilesh Kumar, DRM/Rangiya, Anil Kumar, Chief Engineer/Con-5, and other senior officials of both N.F.Railway Open Line and Construction Organisation.
