SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) and A.chik Youth Welfare Organisation (AYWO) Dadengrre circle, raised concerns over the abandoned school building that was under construction in West Garo Hills.
In a statement issued on Friday, the organisations said they were unaware of the reasons why construction of the central model school and hostel in Dadenggre stopped for almost two years ago.
On visiting the site, it was found that the glass windows are broken and the compound of the half-constructed school building is now covered with bushes and foliage.
The FKJGP and the AYWO have urged authorities concerned to look into the matter and take some measures for the benefit of the students.
