31 pc Meghalaya population under Aadhaar

SHILLONG: As many as 9,10,918 Aadhaar cards have been issued in Meghalaya till date and the state-wise saturation stands at 31 per cent.
In East Khasi Hills, a total of 3,90,971 Aadhaar cards have been issued with a saturation of 47 per cent. For West Garo Hills, the number is 2,06,285 with a saturation of 32 per cent.
In South Garo Hills, 12 per cent of the population has been covered by issuing 17,653 cards. In Ri Bhoi, the saturation is 20 per cent with 51,961 cards. Many people from the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region had joined the campaign against Aadhaar and many people had come to sign the documents for opting out of Aadhaar.
