Accident
On Thursday around 8 am, one Homding Jyrwa (48) felloff a moving Bolero Pick-up (Ml-06-7317) driven by Skhemlang Lyngdoh near Langrin Nonglang village in West Khasi Hills and died on the spot. Necessary formalities were observed and the body was later handed over to the relatives.
On Thursday around 8 pm, one scooty (ML-05S-6957) ridden by Vicky Acharjee (17) skidded on the road at Jyntru in Ri Bhoi. Acharjee and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were taken to CH Nongpoh for treatment.
Assault
Singbath Sangma, Hamit Sangma and Samseng Marak lodged a joint complaint stating that on March 21 around 7:30 pm, two persons identified as Shibu and Rajib along with their accomplices assaulted the complainants while they were returning home after a social meeting at Arigre village in West Garo Hills.
Fraud
Nibatskhem Marang lodged a complaint stating that on November 2, 2016 one Hussain Tapadar on behalf of M/s Neon Mobicom & Tele Systems Pvt. Ltd., signed an agreement with the complainant to provide sub-contract works for laying 35 km long optical fiber cables and took Rs. 41,000 as security deposit. However, Tapadar and the company failed to inspect the work and has so far refused to respond after being contacted.
Theft
Ohibait Dkhar lodged a complaint stating that on Friday around 3 pm, two persons identified as Pynkhreh Surong and Deibor Lhuid stole five heads of cattle from his cowshed at Bamshrieh in West Jaintia Hills and fled in a Bolero Pick-up (ML-04C-3630).
Okasa Khonglam (53) of Pongtung, Pynursla lodged a complaint stating that on Thursday around 12:30 pm, one Francis Pyngrope broke into her residence and vandalized her property and stole Rs 100 cash.
Elias Talang lodged a complaint stating that on March 27 around 11 pm, unknown miscreants stole batteries valued at Rs 2,20,000 from Goggle Tower Ltd., at Mustem village in West Jaintia Hills.
