NIFT’s craft bazaar concludes

SHILLONG: A two-day ‘Craft Bazaar’, organised by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, concluded in the city on Friday.
The programme, which was held on the NIFT campus in Lawmali, aimed at providing a platform for local artisans and weavers to showcase their products.
The programme also focused on bringing about sustainable livelihood to the lives of the artisans and to empower them through classroom lectures, field study and by exploring possibilities of the existing craft designs for better optimisation.
A fashion show showcasing the design-intervened ensemble garment products was held and included musical performances by the college band and Rum and Monkeys, a Shillong-based band.
