Civil service body mourns death of Wallang

SHILLONG/ AMPATI: Members of the Meghalaya Civil Service Association (MCSOA) held a meeting to condole the death of MCS officer Donny M Wallang, Joint Secretary of Urban Affairs in the city on Wednesday.
The association recalled Wallang’s amiable nature towards people and offered their prayers to his family.
“He was a much loved younger brother to his seniors and a mentor to the juniors of the association. He was a role model to all officers. He was a responsible officer and an invaluable asset both to the association and the state. His innovative and creative approach in administration and management of developmental programmes in the state is note-worthy and his demise has left a vacuum and an irreplaceable loss to the Government as well as the society,” the association said.
“The association expresses heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his wife Elaridor Sohliya, parents, siblings and other members of the family,” it added.
Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was also held at the chamber of Deputy Commissioner, Ram Kumar S, in Ampati which was attended by officials of South West Garo Hills District Administration. The officials, during the meeting, recalled Wallang’s service and contribution to the state and its people as an officer.
The meeting also observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
