TURA: A former member of the district council and a former woman candidate from Dalu assembly seat has joined the NPP along with their supporters on Friday.

Former MDC Apurba Marak and former Independent candidate in the last 2018 assembly elections from Dalu, Moromi K Marak, have given their backing for NPP candidate Agatha K Sangma in this parliamentary election.

Both Apurba and Moromi were welcomed into the NPP by Meghalaya Home Minister James Pangsang K Sangma during a programme at Dalu border town.

Moromi Marak had resigned from the BJP after the party denied her a ticket for the 2018 elections. She unsuccessfully contested as an Independent.
