SHILLONG: A complaint was lodged with the general observer for the Shillong seat, in-charge Ri Bhoi district regarding the violation of the Election Commissioner of India (ECI) order of transferring officers serving more than three years.
A person identified as Fleming Rani, in a letter to the observer said as per the ECI directions, during election process, officers who have served more than three years in a particular area must be transferred.
The letter, however, added that in Ri Bhoi, there are officers who have served the district for more than four years but are still posted in the same place especially D Phawa, ADC in-charge personnel cell.
The letter stated that the officer has a good relation with higher authority, local MLA and even the president of the MPCC and hence nobody dares to follow the rules and procedures.
The writer of the letter has sought intervention into the matter at the earliest.
