Students sensitised on alcohol’s negative impact

SHILLONG: Members of the Alcoholics Anonymous Foundation Group and Al-Anon-Seed of Hope Group of Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Value Education, St. Anthony’s College, conducted an awareness programme for the students on the negative impact of alcohol.
Over 2500 students participated in the programme, held in batches, from March 28- April 3. Through sharing of life experiences, the speakers highlighted the reality that alcoholism is a disease which wrecks individuals, families and the society as a whole.
Information on where and how to get help, for individuals and families was also provided.
