Raid San Shnong to hold 2-day cultural fest from May 3

SHILLONG: The Raid San Shnong of Hima Mylliem in collaboration with 15 Raid of Them Ri-Bhoi will hold a cultural festival on May 3 and 4 at Marngar field.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, elder of Nongkseh,  Nathaniel Thangkhiew said the CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Teiñwell Dkhar will inaugurate the festival.
Thangkhiew said the cultural festival is aimed at preserving the culture and tradition of the people such as the traditional dances, ethnic cuisine.
“Some of the dances need to be preserved. The people are following the urban lifestyle and rarely people know about the dances,” he said.
The funds received are from the state government department of Arts and Culture.
