Assam woman hacks minor children to death, kills self

Kokrajhar: A 28-year-old woman allegedly hacked her two minor children to death and then committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in Kokrajhar district of Assam, police said on Sunday. The incident took place at Besimari village under Fakiragram police station limits on Saturday night when the woman’s husband, a house painter, was not at home. Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh said that the woman, Sujata Das, killed her daughter Rimpa (9) and son Diganta (2) with a machete and then set herself on fire at her their residence. “Police investigation is on to ascertain the reason behind the incident,” he said.
