Financial literacy prog held in WJH

JOWAI: In a bid to spread financial awareness among the masses, the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong on Monday organized a field level financial awareness event at Ladmukhla Dorbar Hall in Mukhla Village under Thadlaskein C&RD Block, West Jaintia Hills District.
The event was held as part of the financial inclusion agenda of the Reserve Bank of India.
The programme was inaugurated by RBI general manager, Paoboi Gante who highlighted the various aspects and benefits of formal banking and financial inclusion.
Officials from the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong spoke about the roles and functions of RBI and new developments in the field of digital transactions.
The programme was attended by block development officer, Thadlaskein Block, B Blah, DDM, NABARD West Jaintia Hills, N Kharluki and bank officials.
Around 180 people took part in the event.
