NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Nongstoin Circle has recently set a deadline of one month to Nongstoin Post Office after the union received a complaint from the account holder that the office has failed to refund the money.
Three months ago, the Postmaster of Nongstoin Post Office was arrested for taking more than Rs 40 lakh from the account deposited by the people in his office.
After the incident, the people demanded refund but the staff of the Post Office failed to do so.
The KSU recently demanded the Head office in Shillong to solve the problem and to return the money of the account holders within one month.
However, the deadline ended on Tuesday, the KSU led by its publicity secretary Bristarlet Ramsiej met the Postal Assistance and demanded him to refund all the account holders yet again, to which the Postal Assistance said that they are waiting for the Demand draft sent by the Head office.
