Villagers rescue abandoned girls

TURA: Two minor girls, who were abandoned by their 15-year old cousin brother, were rescued by villagers in West Garo Hills on Monday.
The cousin had left the girls on the Garobadha-Hallidayganj road in Pipulbari area.
He reportedly told them he would return to fetch them after visiting a nearby place.
The girls had spotted a group of men heading in their direction and cried out for help in fear.
The villagers rushed on hearing their cries following which the men fled the scene.
The police were informed of the incident and the cousin was later apprehended.
