SHILLONG: The war of words continues between the Congress and NPP with the state chief of the regional party, WR Kaharlukhi, on Wednesday reminding its rival that it is not 100 years old.
Taking a jibe at Congress leader Ronnie V Lyngdoh, Kharlukhi said, “ He should read history as Congress was a mass movement till 1947 and became a party only after independence. Even Mahatma Gandhi never liked the idea of turning it into a political party.”
He also said that he had spoken about the Congress getting wiped out in the state and not at the national level.
