AAI cancels 81 flights in NE airports

GUWAHATI: Airports Authority of India has cancelled as many as 81 flights across six airports in Northeast in the wake of Cyclone Fani on Saturday.

However, all the airports in North Eastern Region are operational. “Due to bad weather conditions in other stations/ airports, the connecting flights have been cancelled by the airlines. All the airports in North Eastern Region are open for normal operations,” a statement by Airports Authority of India, North Eastern Regional headquarters at LGBI Airport Guwahati, said.

In Guwahati, 59 flights (including arrivals and departures) of five airlines stood cancelled on Saturday while eight flights in Agartala, six in Imphal and two each in Dimapur, Lilabari and Dibrugarh were cancelled.
