Plea on load shedding
SHILLONG: Phulbari MLA S G Estamur Mominin has asked Power Minister James Sangma to relax and reschedule the load shedding timing in view of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. Mominin, in a letter to the power minister, requested there be no load shedding from 1 am to 4 am and from 4 pm to 9 pm in the entire state in view of Ramadan.
HYC Nongpoh circle formed
NONGPOH: In a bid to spread its wings and make its base stronger in Ri Bhoi District, the Hynnietwrep Youth Council (HYC) on Friday formed a new circle known as the HYC Nongpoh. The new members of the circle include Richard Diengdoh as president, Mission Tron as vice president, Dony Shylla as general secretary, Lamkordor Kharmyndai as assistant general secretary and Morning Kharbani as organising secretary. The swearing-in ceremony of the new members of the council was conducted by the vice president of the central body, Rhembor Saibon, in the presence of the council’s leaders from the district in a function held at the Community Hall of Pahamsyiem village.
Career guidance programme
SHILLONG: The United A·chik Youth Federation (UAYF), Rengdim of West Khasi Hills, organised a Students’ Career Guidance cum Students’ Career Counselling programme at St. Savio High School’s Auditorium, Rengdim on Thursday. The programme was started by a candle light services to mark the third foundation day of the organisation and also to extend condolences to former member Lt. Tusing D. Shira, the victims of terror attacks in Pulwama attacked, Jammu & Kashmir and Sri Lanka. The programme was attended by chief guest Dr. Tharsush K. Sangma, PhD & A·chik Literature besides other two guest of honours S. R. Marak, Former MCS Officer and Thiupil T. Sangma, president of All Coal Owners and Suppliers Association and others. Hundreds of students from ABDK Mission Secondary School, Shallang, The Holy Spirit School, Songsak Khasia and St. Savio High School, Rengdim along with teachers and parents participated in the programme.
