Demand for removal of Pine Mount School Principal

SHILLONG: Social activist Banshai Marbaniang has demanded the removal of Pine Mount School Principal, Aiom Ksiar Diengdoh for flouting the state Education rules.

Speaking to reporters, he alleged that Diengdoh shouted at Marbaniang with foul language when he enquired of the Principal as to how the XI students has started their classes when the class X results hasn’t been out yet.

In the letter to the Education minister, Lahkmen Rymbui, Marbaniang said he restrained himself though he was infuriated and sentimentally hurt.

He pointed out that SSLC 2019 result has not been declared by the MBoSE. Stating that he was utterly shocked when he was confronted by Diengdoh who said, “Who the hell are you to inquire on such matters? We have our own rules and regulations.”

He expressed concerns about the behavior of such officials holding responsible positions in the society especially in a matters relating to Education department.

Asserting that it is highly unbecoming to her stature, Marbaniang demanded the removal of Aiom Ksiar Diengdoh from the post of principal for flouting the Meghalaya School Education Act and the Education Policy.

The Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui said he would look into it, however, Marbaniang is adamant to remove her from the post of Principal.

Marbaniang said that Pine Mount should have been a school for the underprivileged but many students were backed up by bureaucrats or MLAs/MDCs.
