Editor,
The Lok Sabha elections touched a new nadir. Debates filled with hate speeches aimed at rekindling communal tensions, where a lesser luminary has issued an open threat that if his party returns to power, the party will bring machines from China to shave 10 -12 thousands of Muslims and later force them to convert , to sexist khaki underwear remark by Azam Khan to projections like “Modiji ki Sena” by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath who has never been famous for nuance or civility of expression. Any attempt at political ownership of the military is not just alarming; it is treacherous. The soldier owes allegiance to the Indian state and to his regiment, unit and uniform not to any government or political party and such projections will only hasten the loss of respect which the armed forces still enjoy in India. Indian army is neither a private army nor a mercenary force whose services can be bought and sold. It is a professional army meant to protect the constitutionally established order. The armed forces need to be kept at a distance to maintain their apolitical stance. Governments may come and go , but the armed forces would remain.
Alas gone are the days of politicians enunciating their ideologies and policies in measured tone and tenor of how they plan to take the country forward on a growth trajectory. Today political speak has been reduced to a slugfest of personal insinuations , speeches spewing communal hatred and character assassinations against opponents which brings out the worst in everyone thereby vitiating the very idea of democracy.

Global Terrorist Masood Azhar
Editor,
That Masood Azhar the chief of the terror group JeM based in Pakistan was on May 1, 2019 black-listed and designated as a global terrorist by the UN Security Council is a big diplomatic win of the decade for India. The Congress Party, realizing that they are losing ground very fast, does not have a single word of appreciation for the achievements of the ruling dispensation at the Centre. The erudite Jawahar Lal Nehru made a blunder in foregoing permanent membership in the UN Security Council in favour of China, twice in 1952 – once backed up by Russia and once by the United States. .Panchasheel of Bandung Conference of 1955 flopped because of imperialistic attitude of China. Controversial alignment of McMahon line mentioned in the Discovery of India disturbed China and big brother Chou-En-Lai back- stabbed Nehru. Hence the Chinese War of 1962. Indian soldiers had to fight barefoot in the front line with antiquated rifles used in First World War. Jawahar Lal’s concept of peaceful co-existence betrayed him because he took for granted neighbouring power-mongering enemy countries as friendly ones. Nehru did not think at all about strengthening the defence of the country. The posting of his inept friend scandal tainted V K Krishna Menon as Defence Minister was another grave mistake Nehru made. In fact all the three chiefs of the army resented Krishna Menon’s dictatorial attitude and inept handling of defence matters.
In a hurriedly convened recent press conference, Rahul’s advice of, ‘Terrorism has to be dealt with sternly’ is ridiculous. His further claim of, We (Congress?) deal with it more sternly than Narendra Modi’ is again making himself a laughing stock. Rahul’s comments before the press flanked by Congress leaders P Chidambaram and Randeep Singh Surjewala once again re-affirms that the toddler politician always needs two crutches on two sides to back up his falsehoods or to make political gimmicks before the press. Earlier he used to be sandwiched between mother & sister on his sides as props to stand up and irrelevantly fumble before the press.
The fact of the matter is that during the Congress rule for decades the trinity of home ministers Shivraj Patil, P Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde pursued an extra- soft policy against terrorists and terrorism; against the separatist leaders of J & K and against Pakistan at the behest and dictates of Sonia Gandhi. So much so that the accused perpetrators of Mumbai Serial blasts of 1993, Patna terrorist attacks and others almost in every nook and corner of the country went unpunished. The policy adopted by the Congress and the UPA dispensation resulted in the present situation of unrest and turmoil in today’s Jammu & Kashmir with sponsorship of the then ruling dispensation and aided and abetted by terrorist funding to separatists by Pakistan.
In 2008 the proxy war of Pakistan in Mumbai was at a time when Congress party ruled the state of Maharashtra. It needs a thorough investigation to identify the senior Mumbai-based Congress leader who conducted the combative operation and ordered three senior-most IPS officers including Mr Hemant Karkare to move in one vehicle/jeep only to meet their doom. Who is that leader who acted in a treason-like manner at the dictates of Dawood Ibrahim? Has the Congress party and the president of the party had the courage to name him? Example is better than precept. Congress has not taken any initiative or stern action ever to stop the growth of terrorism in the country as a whole and terrorists activities of the separatists of J & K. Congress party has only preached and practised the one and only philosophy of ‘divide & rule’ and played nasty and divisive politics as inherited from their British masters by making innumerable reservations based on religion, caste and creed with multiple amendments of the Constitution thereby destroying its sanctity.
Without the knowledge of the politics of the sub-continent and the history and ethos of the country Rahul Gandhi unwittingly dragged the issue of of release of Masood Azhar and two other terrorists by India in 1999 in exchange for passengers held hostage on board IC-814 flight hijacked to Kandahar in Afghanistan. In fact by raising the issue Rahul has showered grave insult on one of the greatest statesman-politician of the country, late, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Congress is responsible for the partition of India in 1947 at the cost of Punjab, Bengal and Sind. Their divisive policy of seven decades have brought the country and the nation on the brink of multiple partitions and attrition based on hatred, language, caste, creed and religion by their sustained publicity and propaganda of falsehoods in a sycophantic manner so as to ensure that the power to rule the country remains in the hands of a tainted dynasty and by deriving favours from the hybrid family descendants from here to eternity.
But the people of India are clever and conscious enough and well aware of the hidden agenda of the Congress Party and is not likely to allow the Congress Party to succeed in its sinister design.
Yours etc,.
