Under-17 Interschool Tourney begins in state

SHILLONG: The Under-17 Interschool Cricket Tournament, 2019 organised by Shillong Cricket Academy, began with the outbreak of two thrilling matches.
The first match was set to take place between Tender Child Secondary School and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) EAC, Upper Shillong.
The toss was won by the former team who chose to let their opponents bat and them chasing the score in the second innings of the match.
Tender Child School managed to chuck out all of KV’s batsmen who put up a commendable grand total of 78 runs to defend in 14.1 overs.
In the second innings, players from Tender child school put up a great show and marched ahead to surpass the score line.
By the end of 15th and the final over Tender child was restricted to 72 runs for a loss of 9 wickets, and they conceded their defeat.
KV won the match by 6 runs.
Top scorer of the match was Namit Kr – 18 off 13 balls from KV.
Vikash Kumar from KV School took 3 wickets in 3 overs to give 15 runs to their opponent team.
While, Tanmay Gupta from Tender Child sent off 3 batsmen back to the bench in 3 overs letting KV take away only 8 runs.
The second match of the Under-17 Interschool Tournament was played between All Saints higher Secondary School and BVN Secondary School.
All Saints school won the toss and chose to bat second in the order.
BVN School, who were driven to bat first scored 58 with all wickets down within 12.3 overs.
All Saints school defeated BVN School scoring 59 runs with 8 wickets in hand surpassing the score line within 8.2 overs.
Andrew Chand of All Saints scored 31 runs off 21 balls, not out.
Deepak Sethia of U-17 BVN School team took 4 wickets in 3 overs letting All Saints School score only 14 runs from his overs.
