HLC to meet on May 10 to discuss Harijan Colony issue

SHILLONG: The High Level Committee (HLC) to look into the pending issue of Harijan Colony, will meet on May 10 to discuss the matter.
An official informed that the HLC would meet and discuss the ways and means to solve the issue.
The Committee is awaiting the reply of the General Administrative Department to shift the SMB office which will in turn be allotted to the 128 SMB employees currently residing in Harijan Colony.
The SMB office is currently functioning from the buildings meant for quarters for the employees at Bivar road and the state government intends to shift the SMB office to the adjacent Meghalaya Basin Development Authority office.
As soon as the SMB temporary office is vacant, the government will request the 128 employees to come and stay in the SMB quarters.
